Polytechnic courses, also known as Diploma in Engineering, are technical courses that students can complete in three years. The courses are popular among candidates who want to pursue a career in engineering. To appear for the Polytechnic entrance exam, candidates must have passed class 10th or 12th. The eligibility criteria of this exam varies according to different states of India. The syllabus for the exam generally covers topics from subjects such as English, Hindi, Mathematics, and Social Science. The test will be conducted in Hindi and English. The question paper will contain a total of 100 questions to be solved in 3 hours. Each question is worth 4 marks and 1 mark is deducted for each incorrect response. The syllabus will be according to the 10th subjects, English, Hindi, Mathematics, Social Science.
The eligibility criteria for the polytechnic exam is differed according to their respective states, some of them are given below:
1. JEECUP Eligibility:
- Candidate must be an Indian.
- Domicile must be there with the candidate from the Uttar Pradesh State.
- The candidate must complete their 10th or 12th from those schools which come under Uttar Pradesh.
- The candidate must be 14 years old on 1st July.
- The minimum qualification is 10th for appearing in the exam.
- The candidate must have passed their latest education with a minimum of 35% from the recognized education board.
2. DCECE Eligiblity:
- Must be an Indian candidate for the exam.
- The candidate must have the residential proof of Bihar.
- Candidates, whose parents are government employees in Bihar can also apply for the exam.
- Candidates must have passed 10th or equivalent exam with a minimum two-year experience in a company/ institute/firm or government organization.
- Minimum 50% in Mathematics and Science both.
- The minimum age for the candidate is 19 years as on 1st July.
3. Delhi ECT Eligibility:
- Only Indians are allowed.
- Candidates must have a PAN Card or Aadhar Card to appear in this exam.
- Candidates must have passed 10th or 12th for the entrance exam.
- Candidates must have passed the previous exam with a minimum of 35% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Maths.
- The candidates must pass with three subjects: English, Mathematics and Science.
- Candidates must have passed their 12th from the CBSE Board so that they can apply.
Polytechnic Entrance Exams Pattern
1. JEECUP Exam Pattern
- Pen and paper-based test.
- The test will be conducted in Hindi and English.
- The question paper will contain a total of 100 questions to be solved in 3 hours.
- Each question is worth 4 marks and 1 mark is deducted for each incorrect response.
- The syllabus will be according to the 10th subjects, English, Hindi, Mathematics, Social Science. Science, General Knowledge.
2. DCECE Exam Pattern
- This is an offline test, i.e; pen and paper-based test.
- The exam is conducted for 2 hours and 15 minutes and the paper consists of 90 questions.
- The paper will be set using topics from science, mathematics, numerical ability, language and general knowledge.
- Each question is worth 5 marks. There is no negative marking scheme involved in this exam.
3. Delhi CET Exam Pattern
- This is a pen and paper-based test that is conducted for 2 hours.
- There will be a total of 150 questions asked in the exam paper.
- The candidate will be awarded 4 marks for every correct response and there will be a negative marking scheme where 1 mark is deducted for each incorrect response.
- The exam will be conducted in both Hindi and English.
